Consultancy Opportunity: National TB Control Program Seeks Expert for LHW Assessment
The National TB Control Program (NTP) Pakistan, under the Common Management Unit (CMU) for TB, AIDS, and Malaria, is inviting applications for a National Consultant to conduct a Rapid Assessment of the role of Lady Health Workers (LHWs) in Tuberculosis (TB) control across Pakistan.
This assessment aims to evaluate the effectiveness, challenges, and overall impact of the LHW program on TB prevention and treatment while identifying areas for improvement.
Key Responsibilities
The selected consultant will be responsible for:
✅ Evaluating LHW Program Coverage – Conducting a comprehensive verification of LHW coverage across all districts by collecting and analyzing data from stakeholders.
✅ Policy Analysis – Reviewing and documenting the existing policy framework for LHWs at federal and provincial levels by engaging with policymakers and analyzing legal documents.
✅ Recruitment & Retention Review – Assessing the hiring, retention, and remuneration strategies for LHWs through stakeholder interviews and data analysis.
✅ Assessing LHW Involvement in TB Control – Evaluating their role in TB case detection, preventive treatment, referrals, and treatment support.
✅ Identifying Challenges & Gaps – Understanding the difficulties LHWs face in TB prevention and control and proposing solutions.
✅ Training & Knowledge Assessment – Measuring LHWs’ knowledge, capacity, and training related to TB management.
✅ Community Perception Analysis – Examining how communities perceive and accept LHWs in TB control initiatives.
✅ Recommending Corrective Measures – Defining strategies to strengthen LHW contributions to TB control efforts.
✅ Final Report Submission – Preparing a detailed report outlining findings, challenges, and actionable recommendations.
📌 Education: MBBS/BDS with MPH, MSPH, Health Policy & Management, or an equivalent qualification.
📌 Experience: Minimum 10 years of professional experience in public health programs.
📌 Expertise in TB & LHW Programs: Strong understanding of Pakistan’s healthcare system, particularly LHW and TB control programs.
📌 Familiarity with Global TB Strategies: Knowledge of international TB control strategies is an advantage.
📌 Research & Analysis Skills: Experience in designing and conducting assessments, including qualitative and quantitative data analysis.
📌 Communication & Reporting: Excellent report writing and communication skills.
📌 Age Limit: Maximum 60 years.
